Okay okay, I haven’t done a Stuff That Makes Me Anxious post in a while, so it’s time for a new one.
So what besides canceling print jobs and going to Kinko’s?

Seriously man, I absolutely f*cking love music. But I get nervous as hell if I think someone’s going to start poking around my iPod to see what’s on there. Depending on the day, you might think I’m a 60 year-old ex-disco queen or a British techno fiend.
But I have good reason – people have been making fun of my music collection for the longest time. But since I’m conveniently in the closet on this blog, I’m going to blow your minds by listing some of my favorite songs!
Here we go:
Patrice Rushen - Haven’t You Heard
Some things in life are so good that they break my heart. Chicken fingers, brunettes with boobs, and this song. It makes me feel like a black woman getting ready to party, and we all need to feel like that sometimes.
Dream Theater – Metropolis Part 1
Oh Dream Theater. You once had my heart. Images and Words and Awake are two of my favorite albums of all time, back when DT had the fire burning within. I don’t know what happened, maybe it was the departure of Kevin Moore, but DT’s music lost some of its natural intensity afterwards.
Justice – D.A.N.C.E.
This tribute to Michael Jackson is basically a kooky, disco-ish dance number. But I love the fact that it kind of sounds like a children’s song, and that f*cking bassline is to die for. The bridge is amazing too.
Annie Lennox – Walking on Broken Glass
Can a straight man be obsessed with an Annie Lennox song? So obsessed in fact, that he has an acapella version of this song on his fricking iPod? I guess so. Annie is one in a million.
Fonda Rae – Over Like a Fat Rat
While I’m young enough to understand computers, I’m also old enough to have rollerskated in an actual roller rink. And this is the kind of music they played. Oh I miss those days…
D’Angelo – Feel Like Making Love
I’m straight, but if I had to make sexy time with a black man, I’d have to pick D’Angelo. This is my favorite late night walking-the-streets music:
Ben Watt – Old Soul
This atmospheric track is the intro to one of my favorite albums: Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly. I’d love to use it in a video project one of these days.
